Characteristics of Slurry Ice Machine
The deepchilled slurry ice crystal produced by our slurry ice machine is a kind of tiny crystal with liquid fluidity. Due to their superior fluidity and cooling properties, these perfect, round crystals are easy to distribute through piping and can completely cover the product to be cooled and flow into crevices, thus providing greater surface contact and faster cooling.
1. Adaptable Ice - Crystal size (0.25 mm to 0.5 mm), ice fraction (0% to 100%), temperature (0 to -30 °C), and salinity level (0% and up) are easily adaptable, making the deepchilled ice produced by our slurry ice machine suitable for any application.
2. Efficient Cooling –No matter dry crystals or slurry ice, the unique properties of the perfect deepchilled crystals allow them to provide rapid, even cooling at any desired temperature without causing freezing or freezer burn.
3. Superior Protection - Smooth, round crystals do not damage product and prevent skin discoloration, unlike other forms of sharp, jagged ice (flake ice, shell ice, cracked ice, etc.).

Pumpable Ice
The deepchilled ice produced by Snowkey slurry ice machine can be pumped through piping or hoses as salt or fresh water ice slurry, using conventional pumping technology. This eliminates the need for costly means of mechanical or labor intensive ice transportation. As the distribution system is virtually maintenance free, the operating and service costs are substantially reduced. The flowability of deepchilled ice makes it a natural secondary coolant for industries seeking non-CFC alternative refrigerants.
Snowkey has developed a variety of ice storage and distribution systems for Deepchilled Ice. System components can be placed anywhere space is available and layout of equipment has no bearing on ice plant performance. Ice can be easily pumped from a single source to multiple points of use.
Deepchilled Ice made by our slurry ice machine is extremely versatile and can be utilized as a very liquid ice solution with a virtually undetectable ice concentration to a heavy slush containing upward of 65% ice content and ultimately even as dry, salt-free crystal ice.
Why does Deepchilled Variable-State Ice preserve better than other forms of ice?
The Deepchilled ice produced by Snowkey ice machine is the most powerful cooling medium available for the perishable foods industries. In liquid ice or slurry ice form, Deepchilled ice completely surrounds the product leaving no air pockets and allowing for maximum surface contact. This results in the fastest possible heat transfer, cooling product immediately and uniformly, and arresting potentially damaging bacterial formation, enzyme reactions and discoloration. Tests have shown that Deepchilled ice removes heat from fish, shrimp, poultry and vegetable produce at significantly higher rates than other forms of ice which often freeze into clumps or leave air pockets resulting in inconsistent product coverage. For poultry and fish producers, Deepchilled ice equals faster chilling, higher grade product and longer shelf life.
